UPDATE FROM THE BOARD

Hello everyone,

The board took a recess to recover from Back Alley, Denver, our annual fetish fair held at Trade, during the last weekend of August.

We’re glad to report it was another successful event, bringing in about $2,000 of income to be used toward accomplishing RMLA’s mission and vision of connecting, empowering, and educating our diverse communities.

Our next meeting will cover our election process for board members, an annual reflection on progress toward our vision, and a retrospective on the programming we’ve provided and supported this year.

Remember that all upcoming community events can be found on the new “Community Calendar” page on our website: https://rockymountainleather.org/community-calendar/

If you have any feedback or events you want added, please contact board@rockymountainleather.org.

Daniel Barnes

President, Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance

Build-A-Bear with the Denver boys of Leather

Friday, November 17, 2023, 5-8pm at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Park Meadows Mall

Saturday, November 18, 2023, 1-4pm at Build-A-Bear Workshop, Chapel Hills Mall

The Denver boys of Leather are a group of self-identified leatherboys based in Denver. Each year, they gather to build teddy bears to donate to charity. From the organizers:

“Denver boys of Leather invites you and your families to our 17th annual holiday Build a Bear event. Each year we gather to stuff and dress bears to donate to kids who are going through some rough times at Sungate Kids, Denver Children’s Advocacy Center, and TESSA of Colorado Springs.

Come dressed in your leather finest, but please remember that we will be around children and vanilla folks (they let DboL out in public???). This is a family friendly event, meaning that your vanilla, leather, fur (two legged kind unless otherwise documented!), poly, etc. families are welcome to join us for the festivities.

If you are unable to make it this year and wish to donate, please follow this link and choose Donation-BAB: https://www.denverboysofleather.org/DboLStore.html

CALLS FOR INVOLVEMENT

We are always looking for kink/fetish skill performers (e.g. flogging, electro, bondage; tops or bottoms) for demos or tastings. If you’re interested in helping out with a Rough Play, please email us at board@rockymountainleather.org.

If you are interested in helping drive the direction of RMLA, or would like to voice your opinion, please reach out to us at board@rockymountainleather.org.

If you have your own organization you want to start or build up which will build cohesion and community in the Leather, BDSM, kink, and/or fetish communities in the Rocky Mountain region, please reach out to us — we’d love to see how we can help. We love to bring new programs to the area for any demographic, but we can’t do it alone.

Thanks,

The Rocky Mountain Leather Alliance
