General FAQs:
Why did you choose that weekend for the event?
Originally we wanted to avoid other kink events: Thunder in the Mountains in mid July and Up Your Alley happened at the end of July so we initially chose the First Weekend of August. This coincided with Aurora Pride so we pushed BAD out further. We wanted to avoid the Labor Day Weekend because people use that for other holiday travel so we landed on middle late August.
- We considered the overlap with DenFur and came to the conclusion that there are definitely overlaps with the 2 community events and we are okay with the conflict. DenFur also brings in several people from out of town into the area which could help with cross pollination.
- We also considered Southern Decadence, Delta, Inferno, and Burning Man as potentially conflicting events that overlap.
Have you considered making this an 18+ event?
We have and at this moment, we are not interested in expanding this to be an 18+ event. This brings different types of liability and risk that we are not ready to act on for the prospective volume that it would bring.
As a business, which application should I fill out?
Generally, we have the following mindset, but reserve the right to make discretionary decisions based on specific situations:
- Vendors – if you are a for-profit business and are selling a product or service or you are setting up direct appointments for products or services, we request that you apply as a vendor
- Non-profit / Organizations – if you are a non-profit organization or an organization that provides services that support and benefit the community, AND you are taking space to share information about your organization, please apply as Non-profits and Organizations
- Sponsorship – If you want to support the event and do not need to take space, you can apply to be a Sponsor for the event
- If you’re still not sure the best category or you may fall into multiple categories, please send us an email and we can discuss options and best fit
Vendor FAQs:
What are reasons a vendor’s application would not be accepted?
- We want to make sure this event is mutually successful so if we feel the type of products or services offered are not a good fit, we may choose to not accept or to have a conversation to confirm.
- We support our local artists and we will decline applicants who sell AI art or products.
- We also have limited spaces so we may not be able to accept all applicants submitted. If we have reached our capacity, we will notify applicants that they have been put on a waiting and will be notified if space becomes available.
How do you organize who gets what space?
We will do our best to accommodate special requests, but we will prioritize returning vendors
What types of vendors are you looking for? Would this be a good fit for me?
We want to make sure vendors are aware of our event audience and that they are providing service for that demographic. We are hosting a kink/fetish event open to all genders and sexuality, but tend to lean towards gay males. Common examples:
- Products specifically made for fetish, kink, and queer people
- Services provided with a fetish or kinky theme
- Sexual health and wellbeing
